He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Law and worked as an Attorney at Law in the public legal office at the University of Ciudad Juárez, located in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he worked on the project called “Tri-County (Brewster, Jeff Davis, Presidio) and West Texas Rural County Detention Facility Project”.

He worked as a Second Grade Bilingual teacher for the Dallas School District. There, he developed an interest in language contact, bilingualism, language acquisition, and second language acquisition. Then, he completed two Master of Arts degrees in Linguistics and Hispanic Literature. Now, he is working on projects related to these areas of Linguistics.
